After the recent announcement of a special “Manchester Showers” i-5923, adidas Originals and Size? are continuing their exclusive partnership with the release of two Trimm Stars, both a black and a cream colorway. A silhouette that was originally introduced in 1971 as part of a German sports initiative that encouraged the general public to get out of their houses and live a healthy lifestyle, the Trimm Star offers a sleek, classic aesthetic with bold branding. The shoe’s defining feature comes via its tri-colored stripes, inspired by the process of video-taping classic soccer matches to VHS, and the colors that were found on VHS box graphics in the 70s.
The black colorway features a rich suede upper with blue, green and red leather stripes all rounded off with a black midsole, while the cream colorway swaps out the suede upper for a premium leather and offers offers purple, red, and orange stripes plus a gum midsole. Both feature gold foil-stamped Trimm Star branding on the lateral side, and a lacing system that replaces regular eyelets with ghilly loops for a better lockdown. The shoes will retail for £90 (or around $121 USD) and are set to see a staggered release, with the black dropping May 25th while the cream arrives a week later on June 1st at all size? locations.
