With 2018’s Kobe Day fast approaching, the hype around his signature line of Nike basketball footwear continues to soar, as images of his newest AD shoe repeatedly surface. While a name for the newest member of the Kobe AD family has yet to be reported, we do know that this new silhouette fits in perfectly with Bryant’s recent aesthetic, boasting a sole unit consistent with other past models while ushering in an ankle collar that allows for the easiest of slip-on access. Other supporting details include a brand new hybridized logo on this model’s insole that features half of Bryant’s iconic “sheath” logo fused together with a a sharp beam of light or sun ray as well as significant numbers in the Black Mamba’s life adorning its numerous lace stays. Its left foot equips 33, 08, and 24, a nod to Bryant’s three jersey numbers since his days at Lower Merion High School, and its right-footed counterpart lists 08, 23, 78, Bryant’s birth date. Nothing official regarding a release of this black and grey colorway of Kobe’s newest Nike signature sneaker has been revealed just yet, but expect it to closely follow the Kobe Day release of a different Sail-colored variety.
