Ben Felderstein Steph Curry’s signature line of Under Armour footwear always comes inspired by significant moments or people in his life whether it be a tattoo on his arm, or his wife, Ayesha. For All-Star Weekend, Chef Curry and UA will be dropping a Curry 6 inspired by a prank he pulled in college during his 21st birthday celebration. For this prank, Steph was tasked with distracting the steakhouse’s hostess while his Davidson College teammate was supposed to jump in a Koi pond and grab one of the fish. Unsuccessful, their plan was caught on video tape and send to Davidson College men’s basketball head coach Bob McKillop, leading to hours and hours of sprints during one of their practices. “We were in the gym running sprints for a good two hours,” Steph said. “And then we had to go back to the steakhouse and stay at the front door for four hours as greeters!”
Dressed in a striking yellow hue, this Curry 6 is meant to resemble the beauty of the Koi fish as the sharp shooter returns to his home in Charlotte for yet another All-Star game start. In celebration of Curry’s origins as a prankster limited pairs will drop at the Armoury at Champs Sports in the Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, NC on February 13 beginning at 4:30pm ET.
