With free agency in the books and summer league finalized, it’s the NBA’s dead season, but that hasn’t stopped LeBron James from remaining in the spotlight: he’s been instituting “Taco Tuesday” on Instagram, drawing a great deal of attention to himself at his son’s AAU games, and releasing new makeups of his Nike LeBron 16, like this classic “Bred” colorway. A grade school-sized release, these Nike shoes feature a black, white, and red color scheme that dates all the way back to the King’s first stint in Cleveland, and present an undeniably classic look. The textured upper is constructed of a black knit material, while the tongue also takes on a black nature, but opts for an elegant patent leather. White then appears on the tongue’s logo, the midsole, and the signature triangular heel piece, which is devoid of any branding, save for a simple tonal Swoosh. Cushioning is provided by a combo of Zoom Air in the forefoot and Air Max in the back for yet another deviation from the full-size makeups, which opt for a full-foot Zoom Air system. The look is then completed by a textured red outsole with LBJ’s Dunkman logo on the heel. These high-performance kids hoop kicks will release on August 3rd for $160 USD, so check a store list below to see what retailers will have stock.
