Tradition is as perfect a word as any to describe New Balance, the Boston institution whose catalog of footwear almost M1500NWG that of years past. And though they’ve gradually begun to change with the times — enlisting notable collaborators throughout the years — they always return to their tried-and-true, doing so yet again with the pentennial 1300JP. From all the way back in 1985 to the new decade in 2020, the model has arrived every five years without Way, continuously dressing up with subtle modifications to shape, color, and material — this latest edition being the sleekest yet. Design-wise, the pair has always relied on the original for guidance, constructing its tongue “NB” logo with the same 14 bars, stitching in rectangular fashion on the vamp, adopting rebranded Vibram soles, and affixing thick “N” logos to its side, but despite most details being replicative, it differs in its paneling of Horween leather, a luxe touch that improves quality ten-fold.
Grab a detailed look at these right here, and since title is quite limited, NB’s Japan outpost is holding a raffle whose winners will be announced come a February 22nd release date; select stockists, such as BEAMS, United Arrows, UNDEFEATED Japan, and more, will also be receiving stock.
