adidas Adds Studded Spikes To The Superstar

adidas’ iconic Superstar silhouette has full running wild with its imagination this year as it continues to erupt in copious amounts of different makeovers and personalities. After focusing on hybridizing with other throwback models such as the Stan Smith and Rivalry, ditching the laces for a tribute to Run D.M.C, and cloaking itself with hearts for Valentine’s Day, it’s now opting to take a more fashion-forward mentality by adding studded spikes to its body. Two colorways including a “Core White” and “Core Black” are to be included in this release, both of which leave their full base layers and sole sections to a monochromatic format. The aforementioned spikes are dyed in contrasting hues to its body, and stand out overtly along the lateral panels that almost call upon women’s heel designs by Christian Louboutin. Interestingly enough, both pairs are set to release on February 13th for $120 a piece, and align with the festivities of New York Fashion Week. Ergo, it’s certainly possible that the timing of these luxury-inspired iterations are no coincidence.
