Before the Coronavirus closed down the entire world, everyone was in anticipation of this year’s Olympics. Fans booked their tickets to Japan ahead of time, athletes spent near exhaustive hours in training, and yet — due to what nobody could foresee — it was all for naught as the sporting event was appropriately postponed far ahead to 2021. But, in hopes of keeping spirits high, some of the commemorative sneaker releases are making their way to the front lines early: Reebok among the few as they reintroduce the Instapump Fury with two new Tokyo inspired colorways. Tonal and simple, the pairs approach one set of blocking with two distinct tones. The first, which hints far bolder, arrives in a tri-color of red shades; each accent, from the synthetic-constructed bladder to the textile base, are all hued the same even down to the tooling. Along the back, however, a striking white embroidery hit spells out “Tokyo” in pronounced fashion, matching that of the accompanying pair even despite its more versatile black backdrop. Grab a detailed look at both offerings here and expect a release to hit certain retailers on April 10th.
