There’s quite a bit of buzz surrounding the Jordan Brand Are Bringing Back Gatorade Jays. In the past couple days, images of a UNION and J Balvin collaboration were revealed, further indicating that the brand has big things in store for the silhouette. But well before we see these hit the shelves, Off-White is to kick things off later this week, dropping two colorways that are modeled after a game-worn pair from Jordan Brand’s archive.
Only a few weeks back, Virgil Abloh took to IG comments to point out some of the design’s more interesting specifics. For starters, the sole — which exhibits cracks throughout the exterior — is a direct 378037-002 of the older shoe. And this attention to detail carries over to the upper’s shape, which took the team many, many hours to get down pat. Elsewhere, Abloh paid equal mind to MJ’s signature, opting for different placement on the black and white colorway to better mirror how the athlete would sign in real life.
