NIKE, Inc. no longer goes by “Blue Ribbon Sports,” but that hasn’t stopped the Oregon-based conglomerate from referencing its original name across footwear, apparel and campaigns. The latest homage to the running retailer’s past is the Nike BRSB, a skate-ready shoe modeled after some of the Swoosh’s earliest running sneakers.
Reminiscent of the Nike Cortez, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, the recently-surfaced pair delivers a sleek proposition for skaters of all levels. Durable suede takes over much of the forefoot, with supple leather making up the rear-half of the shoe’s upper.
