Union Los Angeles has earned quite a reputation through its collaborative projects with Jordan Brand. Any release tied to the LA-based brand seems to rely on a clever modification of the parent model, but their upcoming AJKO-centric design truly takes it up a notch.
While previous releases like their Air Max 98 infused a thorough vintage thematic and their AJ2 saw a complete reupholstery, the AJKO Low is technically a new model. Enamored by the first Air Max 98 KO model, Chris Gibbs introduces the first-ever low-cut version of the 1985 model, adhering to a timeless, simplistic approach vs. the usual “disruptive nature”.
In addition to the sensible low-cut transformation, Union is sure to add some of their distinct touches like the UN/LA flap off the Swoosh, the exposed stitching on the tongue, and repeating UNLA type beneath the removable Swoosh logo.
Both colorways of the Union x AJKO Low releases exclusively through Union Los Angeles on February 2nd at 11am ET, and again on Nike SNKRS on February 4th. A global release of just the White/Sail colorway will also release on February 4th.
