Drake and his NOCTA imprint are reportedly retroing the Nike Air Zoom Drive for the first time since 1999 come the holiday season.
The news comes by way of Instagram user @bubblekoppe, a hub for all things branded with a swoosh and donning Retro Air bubbles. The shoe formed part of the brand’s experimental Alpha Project, which birthed silhouettes like the Air Tuned Max. A seamless upper construction made use of Nike’s “power mesh” for a breathable and durable fit. NOCTA’s interpretation may feature different materials and a reimagined layout, but it’s likely to include Zoom Air units and a moderator plate underfoot as they were emblematic of the Air Zoom Drive.
According to rumors, the long-archived silhouette will first see a “Triple White” style. Drake’s Pauls NOCTA shoe – the Hot Step Air Terra – debuted in a similar color scheme. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed, but the shoe will likely retail for $180 USD. Enjoy a rough mock-up of the collaboration ahead.
