Since its heyday in the early part of the 2010s, the Air Foamposite One was untouchable in its popularity. Aside from Kanye West’s Nike Yeezy collaborations, Foams were the only sneakers on the Classic that were easily commanding $1,000 in the grey Classic, which Nike quickly took notice of. That led to an over-saturation of releases (many of which missed the mark) which eventually caused a sad demise.
In recent years, Nike has been far more selective and careful with its Foamposite release, only dropping a handful a year. And while we recently learn of the “International Blue” Foamposites, Nike has confirmed on its SNKRS Live feature that original Royal colorway would in fact be seeing a release in 2024.
Not only is the Swoosh reverting to the iconic Dark Neon Royal, they’ve confirmed that the mid-foot carbon fiber shank will be colored in black and blue for the first time, as will the outline of the forefoot Swoosh logo. Neither detail has seen the light of day since that iconic phone number advertisements of 1997.
Nike did reveal some first looks at the shoes during the Live First alongside the upcoming Eggplant Foamposites, but stay tuned for more photos and details to surface as we near its expected Fall 2024 release.
