The adidas Pure Boost Desert Camo Custom has enjoyed time in the spotlight throughout the year.
In addition to a high-profile collaboration with Gucci, the reworked classic from 1966 has recently been at the center of Sean Wotherspoon’s latest work with the Three Stripes. Before 2023 ends, the low-top icon has taken on more fashion-forward ensembles, bringing bold, heritage-inspired finishes to the modern era.
Earlier versions of the premium adidas Originals offering enjoyed simple, two-tone color schemes atop a semi-translucent gum bottom. The most recent duo, however, experiments with different hues, all while keeping the Gazelle’s beloved suede upper. Combinations of “Off White/Alumina/Preloved Yellow” and “Crew Navy/Gold Metallic/Off White” prep the model for the gloomier months of the year without solely relying on understated tones. The protective “T” toe overlay and panels along the tongue contrast their surroundings in a similar way to the most iconic adidas Samba. “Gazelle” text is stamped onto the lateral mid-foot, while typical trefoil branding appears on the Achilles’ Heel panel; atypical hardware also lands on the rearfoot. Lastly, the duo features translucent cup soles underfoot that deliver improved traction on hardwood, as well as an elevated aesthetic.
Enjoy detailed photos of both styles ahead. No stateside adidas.com launch details have been disclosed by the brand as of this writing, but the Originals are currently available overseas. If the two Gazelle Indoors release in the U.S., expect a $150 USD price tag.
