To the uninformed, Rhoades is a former pornographic film actress now occupied with building up her persona as a podcaster and overall social media personality. Her presence within the MSCHF Super Baby’s campaign takes on a wholesome spin, highlighting the bond with her son, a child Rhoades has suggested she had with a Brooklyn Nets player. Ever the irreverent bunch, MSCHF has dressed up Milo in a hoops uniform in one of the campaign’s shots, photographed by James Orlando.
The independent studio hasn’t shared much about its latest creation, but initial images of the sneaker reveals a chunky, playful option for kids. The “Super Baby” name is surely a request of the design’s target audience, while also alluding to the shoe’s “super” proportions. A mix of color schemes are found in the model’s inaugural launch, named “Ollie,” “Oscar,” and “Olivia.” Textile base layers and synthetic leather panels divvy up real estate across the upper. Midsoles feature star-shaped windows at the profiles and outsole, evoking design cues from the Nike Air Max line. Both “MSCHF” and “Super Baby” text appears all-throughout the sneaker, cementing the studio’s wackiness in the annals of footwear history.
