With Nike’s Protro series and adidas Basketball’s Crazy initiative keeping the competing brand’s hoops categories running on all cylinders, Kobe Bryant remains as one of the most influential figures in the world of sneakers. While adidas is indeed looking towards the future with their revamped line-up, they’re not overlooking the Retro aspect as another classic Kobe signature shoe is set to return this month.
Formerly known as the adidas KB8 II and later the Crazy 2, Kobe Bryant’s second signature shoe with adidas was at the forefront of the brand’s ad campaigns in the late 1990s. In 2014, adidas brought the KB8 II back en masse with its new title, arriving in a variety of original colorways and newer concepts that aligned with key dates and holidays. Now named the Crazy 98, adidas is looking to recapture some of that energy, also leaving us wondering if the brand’s design team has plans of revamping the shoe similar to the execution of the Crazy IIIFINITY.
Currently, the adidas Crazy 98 is set to release on April 13th, 2024 for $150 directly from adidas.
