There’s good news for Philly natives living outside city limits; following a Philadelphia-exclusive drop earlier this month, the gray and lime green nike free shoes for kids grant “Philly” is set to release broadly on Nike SNKRS on June 18th.
The shoes are designed in part Lapstone & Hammer and Creme, two renowned Philadelphia-based sneaker boutiques, and tribute the hard-working, blue collar character of Philly residents through meaningful callbacks. The sock lining comes with an all-over print that reflects the many murals throughout the city, and green laces feature the coordinates of Philadelphia City Hall in a clever tie-in. Another splash of color appears via “Philly” text in place of Nike branding on the heel, while the rest of the upper is comprised of a unique material composition. Hairy suede appears at the rear, cracked leather makes up the lateral Swoosh and heel panel up top, and a splattered pattern adorns suede overlays at the forefoot. Otherwise, tumbled white leather provides a clean backdrop underneath.
