2024 has been an absolute fan-fest for Foamposite fans, but 2025 might up the ante with the re-release of the Galaxy Foamposites, one of the most notorious sneaker releases in history. Nike confirmed the drop back in June through a SNKRS Live preview, offering up a first look at the shoes. We now have a detailed look at the 2025 release, and it appears that the original “Remove Before Flight” hang-tag will come attached with the shoes.
When the shoes originally released in February 2012, the word “mayhem” is the only feasible way to describe what went down that night. It set in motion Nike’s sweeping reform with sneaker release procedures, nearly removing in-store releases as a whole in favor of digital drops in an effort to ensure consumer safety. While Nike had the right intent, this completely changed drop culture as consumers became more detached from footwear and viewed them as commodities.
The 2025 release of the Galaxy Foamposites may not light thousands to shopping mall parking lots, but there will certainly be a demand. Pairs are still fetching above $1,000 on the secondary market, and given Nike’s significant efforts in bringing the Foamposite back to the forefront with the release of the OG Royal Foamposites and the DMV-exclusive pair, the 2025 Galaxy Foams will be on easy pick-up.
