The first chapter of Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton’s highly anticipated re-edition collection is now available online, including handbags, accessories, and for our purposes; two collaborative takes on the LV Trainer.
As promised in our initial coverage, the shoes are available in black and white colorways and run in both men’s and women’s sizing. Grained calf leather comprises the upper of both pairs, decorated by multicolor LV monograms informed by Murakami’s playful design language.
To the uninformed; Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton first joined forces in 2003 on a capsule that was largely considered groundbreaking for its time, blurring the lines between luxury and pop culture. The “re-edition” collection consists of over 200 pieces pulled from and/or inspired by that memorable capsule, although the LV Trainers are all-new (the model came out in 2019).
Both of Murakami’s LV Trainers will run you a cool $1,660, which is about $300 more than your non-collab pair. See detailed images below and tap here to shop the collection.
