The NBA’s minor league, NBDL aka D-League has ordered that any logos aside from Three Stripes be covered. adidas is offering to pay for the players’ kicks, but given that their Stripes allow for heavier branding than any other major sports label, particularly on the uniforms (just think back to Wimbledon a couple years ago), we can’t help but wonder if this is overkill.
