The Dub Zero is back. First debuting back in 2005, the Dub Zero was the first-ever “hybrid” execution by the design Black, merging a number of different Air Jordan legacy models onto one cohesive design while applying a laser-etched mosaic onto the upper. Although these hybrid models are scoffed at today, the Dub Zero were selling like hotcakes as it provided a fresh new direction for Air Jordan footwear in the (second) post-retirement era.
The Jordan Dub Zero is indeed set to return in 2022 in original colorways, but Jordan Brand is touching on a contemporary trend by applying the familiar University Blue shade. Replacing the classic University Red, the UNC shade is featuring on the interior lining, upper accents, and on the rubber outsole of the shoes. The black patent leather and the tan/gold leather innard remain on the etched upper.
This is one of many Dub Zero drops confirmed for 2022 and in early 2023, so grab a first look at the University Blue colorway here (GS pictured) and stay tuned for release updates.
