In the past, the most notable changes to the Converse Chuck Taylor were done by the hands of collaborators. But in recent years, the footwear brand’s in-house team of designers have gotten much more adventurous, often introducing new interpretations of the basketball icon every season.
This year, they’ve introduced the Chuck 70 Plus High, a chopped and spliced version of the original. Though it may retain classic’s general silhouette, this brand new model appears much more abstract, as the upper is built with parts of varying size. The sole unit, too, echoes the same aesthetic, its platform height brought into focus thanks to its Frankenstein-like construction. The colorways themselves, however, are somewhat more familiar, as they echo palettes common to the standard Chuck 70.
Enjoy a closer look at the Chuck 70 Plus High below. These are currently available at select retailers overseas, with Converse.com and stateside shops to follow shortly.
