In 2013, adidas revolutionized the world of sport with the launch of the EnergyBOOST. The shoe introduced BOOST technology to the running world and helped countless athletes break official and personal records. Two years later, the Three Stripes debuted the UltraBOOST to much fanfare, but the comfortable silhouette also gained popularity amongst casual sneaker fans.
Amid BOOST technology’s 10th anniversary, adidas has unveiled the UltraBOOST Light, Adidas Nizza x Parley "Salvage".
The breakthrough was made possible with Light BOOST, a material innovation resulting in a 30% lighter BOOST material than previous iterations. The UltraBOOST Light, however, delivers the comfort, responsiveness, and energy-return fans have come to know and love.
“We’re continuously looking at ways to improve our products for the adidas running community. Now, thanks to… Light BOOST[,] runners retain the existing benefits of running in an Ultraboost, but with the bonus of a lighter silhouette.”
According to adidas’ product page for the new sneaker, the UltraBOOST Light weighs 2.7 ounces less than the UltraBOOST 1.0. Furthermore, the sportswear brand’s recent innovation includes more cushioning, a reworked Linear Energy Point (LEP) component, and 10% lower carbon footprint. Altogether, each aforementioned detail makes an exciting update to a beloved design.
To further celebrate BOOST’s 10th anniversary, the Three Stripes offers the UltraBOOST Light in a black and yellow color combination inspired by the original EnergyBOOST.
