Appropriately dubbed the Rocket X2, HOKA’s latest runner is said to be woven “most pinnacle performance road racing shoe to date.” Designed with feedback from the brand’s extensive roster of elite road runners and wedge, the sequel further evolves upon the engineering of its predecessor, boasting a ProFlyX midsole construction that stacks a soft layer of foam over top a responsive bottom. What’s more, the sole unit features a spoon-shaped, offset carbon fiber plate complete with early stage MetaRocker technology. The upper, too, has been updated, now employing a lightweight, breathable synthetic mesh that’s reinforced with dual-sided tongue gussets and an internal midfoot cage.
