Does this color palette revealed on the upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low "The Wizard Of Oz" look familiar? While this trail-running shoe is hardly new to this type of colorway, there’s a case to be made that the mix of oceanic blues, earthy browns, and hits of neon is similar to Action Bronson’s recently released New Balance US.
But this overlap is likely a coincidence as the 580 has been privy to the trail runner meets retro runner aesthetic. Now fully inserted into the brand’s lifestyle product pipeline, the 580 appears with some hairy suede guards and a porous mesh at the toe-box, ankle collar, and tongue. That contrast of brown on blue works effortlessly on the 580 model, throwing back to the silhoeutte’s chief run from 2007-2012 (with few better than West NYC’s “Alpine Edition). Let’s hope the 580 doesn’t get left out of the collaboration cycle, because it’s time to do the silhouette even more justice.
These are just a GR drop and will be available soon on newbalance.com for $130.
