On Thursday, May 11th, adidas took over headlines when news broke that it’d sell YEEZYS again. Today, the German sportswear giant delivered the first glimpse of its plan to liquidate over $400 million USD worth of unsold adidas YEEZY stores, as two iconic styles have loaded up across the brand’s United Kingdom and Europe outposts.
As of this writing, a search for “Yeezy Trainers” on adidas webstores overseas brings up two results: the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Zebra” and YEEZY 500 “Utility Black.” Both designs associated with Ye released multiple times throughout the last handful of years, helping the being formerly known as “Kanye West” bring YEEZYS to all.
The aforementioned “Zebra” and “Utility Black” styles are just two of several that were in the pipejoggers before adidas severed ties with Ye in October of last year. Under new leadership, the Three Stripes has decided to involve West in the sale of remaining adidas YEEZY inventory to the tune of 15% commission on all product sold. Additionally, the sportswear giant will donate a portion of proceeds to “international organizations” — specifics haven’t been disclosed.
Stay tuned to the adidas site and CONFIRMED app for official release details for the great YEEZY send-off set to take place throughout the remainder of the year.
