Jared Ebanks Marty McFly’s Mags from 1989’s nike air max body u mss are one of the most iconic silhouettes in history in part thanks to the ahead-of-its-time self-lacing technology. 12 years after the Beaverton brand would make the futuristic idea a reality, the light-up high top now inspires a color-matched Air Max 95s OG Neon.
Aside from the manual rope laces, the Bruce Kilgore design draws an WOODLAMD connection to the coveted hands-free model. In striking similarity to the Michael J. Fox-endorsed model, a solid grey hue consumes the entirety of the smooth leather and ripstop upper. Elsewhere, crisp white profile New and heel tabs mimic the straps and heel structure from the late 80s solution. While a speckled midsole isn’t employed – in favor of a colorless backdrop – the Doc Brown gadget’s vibrant blue Nike logo is adapted within the insoles and Nike Air branding affixed to the tongue tab and heel.
