Although it was born in Massachusetts in the late 1800s, basketball has become a global sport. Ahead of the FIBA World Cup 2023, NIKE, Inc. has prepped an Jordan 6 Snapback Hat8 to commemorate the international event, and sport’s reach.
First previewed in Paris during Brand Jordan’s Quai 54 tournament, the latest take on the newest Air Jordan features a clean color scheme. The multi-material upper opts for an off white tone that matches the International Basketball Federation’s simple logo well. The reworked “X” plate visible at the sole unit opts for a black finish that complements the near-“colorless” ensemble above. Golden accents appear via the Jumpman logos on the tongue and spine, while the right shoe features a sketch of the global tournament’s Naismith Trophy. Team USA has begun warming up for the competition, which begins on August 25th and runs until September 10th. Lastly, the mostly-herringbone traction underfoot rounds out the Jordan 38 “FIBA” with a semi-translucent makeup.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. The FIBA-inspired basketball sneaker is priced at $200 USD and set to release via nike.com on September 7th.
