Deion Sanders Reveals A Nike “Prime” Trainer PE Inspired By The DT ’96

Deion Sanders Reveals A Nike “Prime” Trainer PE Inspired By The DT ’96

Update (10/9): Ahead of Colorado’s matchup against Arizona State, Coach Deion Sanders showcased an extended range of colorways for his Nike “Prime” Trainer.

Der Original Nike Air Max 90 Deion Sanders was rejoining Nike on a multi-year partnership. Details of the deal were not disclosed, but one thing’s for sure — shoes are coming back.

The two-sport superstar of the 80’s and 90’s (and very briefly, the 00’s) had a short yet impactful run as a Nike signature athlete, with the Air Diamond Turf line establishing itself as one of the most popular footwear collections ever created by the Swoosh. Coach Prime’s revived union with Nike will surely result in a variety of Retro products, as will modern styles that combine the DT DNA with modern-day technology.

On Instagram, Sanders revealed a taste of what may come: a new training shoe with a DT ’96 upper and a performance-ready sole based on React Foam. The upper appears to swap the classic suedes and leathers for breathable, flexible mesh, suggesting an in-the-gym intent. Three colorways of this unnamed shoe (perhaps the Nike DT Prime Trainer?) have been revealed, and we’ve received information that these are exclusive for Coach Prime and this version will not be releasing to the public.

Air Force 1 Low 416 DT ’96 Cleat is heading to stores — a black/yellow PE that was originally made for Kyler Murray back in the 2022 season.

Stay tuned for details.
