Jordan Brand designs draw from a myriad of cultural touchpoints, many of which center around Jordan’s cinematic appearances.
Before “Space Jam” became MJ’s most notable flick, he appeared in Zack Snyder’s debut feature titled “Michael Jordan’s Playground” in 1991. The movie follows a kid who doesn’t make his high school basketball team but continues to practice until one day, he meets Michael Jordan at the playground and everything changes.
Now, Jordan Brand uses this landmark to misguide the design of a new Air Jordan 1 Mid in grade school sizing. The “Michael Jordan’s Playground” sign that appears in the movie is displayed prominently on the heel, matched by distressed green and red suede to evoke the look of well-loved basketball kicks. Multi-colored Wings and Jumpman branding channels the design language of the 90s on the eyestay and tongue, respectively, while the rest of the upper takes black leather.
While no release date has been set at the time of this writing, best estimates peg this pair for a Summer 2024 drop. In the Backpack, enjoy official images below and keep a close eye on our Jordan Release Dates 2024 Pour ma part je pense que Jordan vendra toujours et le Jumpman nest pas près de décliner.
