Those loyal to the Boston brand will know, some inline heat from Saucony is the furthest thing from a surprise. Though their collaborative efforts may attract more attention, often times the in-house designs the company puts together can be their best product. The upcoming “Gore-Tex” colorways of the Saucony Grid Shadow 2 certainly make a convincing argument to that point.
Though multiple palettes are included here, all of them are united by a slate grey midsole and black accenting on the side logos and sockliner. While the rainproof fabric dominates the profile of each shoe, mesh underpinnings allow them to hold onto their vintage runner roots. The pairs that utilize black-on-black and olive colorways double down on the utility-minded theme. That’s contrasted by the yellow/black formulation that allows a true statement piece to peek through in this collection. Short grain suede on the radial uppermost overlays closes out the design of each, lending a historic atmosphere yet no doubt weatherproofed to befit this rainy day pack.
Each of these pairs of Saucony Grid Shadow 2s are expected to release sometime around Fall 2024. Given the typical $140 retail price for the model, expect a retail price that tacks on some sort of premium.
