For the GT Cut in particular, Nike looked to offer some lower-budget options with similar properties as the top-shelf model. The GT Cut Academy, priced at a super-approachable $95, provides exactly that with a high-traction, moderate response package. Now, the GT Cut Cross enters the fray with an equally basketball pricepoint at $110.

While firm tech details are not revealed, we can see that the bottom soles are identical to the GT Academy — so don’t expect any chances in the cushioning. What’s different is the upper, which features a reinforced overlay at the forefoot that provides added containment for moves like the cross-over or anything else that requires quick change in direction.
