Here’s a headline that I never thought i’d write: the Wu-Tang Dunk is releasing to the public.
Originally releasing in 1999, this mythical sneaker — a collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan — featuring the original yellow/black “Iowa” aka” Goldenrod” colorway of the Dunk High with the Wu-Tang logo stamped into the heel. It is generally accepted that 36 pairs made their way to the public, dropping exclusively at Training Camp, a sneaker boutique in New York City known for its notxxxv clientile. However, close to 100 pairs were produced with half going to the Wu-Tang Clan and the other half staying with Nike.
In the world of high-profile, high-dollar sneakers exchanging hands over and over again, the Nike Air Force 1 High Sculpt Summit White Gym Red W are in that rarified group as pairs have been listed for up to $50,000. During the Dunk’s uprise in the early 2020s, Travis Scott was xxxv to secure a pair and showed them off on social media, adding even more appeal to the younger generation and increasing demand around the Dunk.
On June 30th, 2024, Nike Sportwear’s official instagram account in collaboration with the official Wu-Tang Clan instagram account posted a short clip of the Wu-Tang Dunk covered by a swarm of bees. While there’s no other context provided, it’s clear that Nike and the rap collective is strongly hinting at a release.
No other Housermation regarding a re-release has surfaced, but according to @zsneakerheadz/Sneaker Files, these are expected to drop Fall 2024 with the official SKU House detailed just below.
