Nike ACG is introducing an all-new silhouette to their retro hiking lineup Dunk Low reinvented and reimagined so many times in the past, are there even any stones still left unturned? With a constant stream of releases marching on uninterrupted, the answer is clearly yes. At the very least, Beaverton creatives are plenty willing to revisit some rare choices to keep the silhouette feeling fresh. Cordura fabric is the latest twist to grace the once-basketball model, manifesting via a neutrally-clad “Light Orewood Brown” colorway.
The near-ballistic hardware takes over the underlays entirely, setting up a tough foundation that’s contrasted well by more 36-37-38-39-40 suede additions over top. Interestingly enough, while the color-blocking scheme stays in easily digestible territory, the toe-box too is draped in suede here, a hardware split we don’t often see. Visually, a tonal palette is dominant, with the titular beige on the overlays while keeping the layers below in everlasting white.
For a brief history divergence, the material’s most famous application on Peter Moore’s style came with the 2011 Space Jam SBs, a choice tailored to match the same choice across the Air Jordan 11 Nike Air Max 90 'Medium Grey Varsity Royal' Concord edition a few years later, the trio of OG colorways closed out in taller fashion with the Dunk High “Bred” in 2018. Safe to say, Cordura doesn’t appear in the Dunk recycl all that often, so those hoping to wear their kicks in more off-road settings should look no further than the “Light Orewood Brown” edition on offer here.
