Yes, many of the biggest holidays still stand between the writing of this article and February. However, the Nike enterprise moves well in advance, meaning that still in the middle of Fall/Winter ’24, we’ve started to get a sense of the commemorative releases for 2025.
The Nike Cortez “Valentine’s Day” may be the most significant embrace of the romantic holiday we’ve seen yet in this cycle. While a red and white base is expected with this sort of release, this design brings some novel detailing onto that requisite foundation. Firstly, mini hearts coat the synthetic upper, a motif that crops up throughout the shoe. Half-complete hang tags arrive with each shoe, uniting to make a pixelated heart that spells out “Perfect Pair” with the Nike check below.
More iconography continues through the tongue and insole, the latter evoking Holiday-themed candy with one-liners that speak to Beaverton slogans. Finally, the inside of the tongue tag reveals a motto that’ll likely lend this shoe its name as we approach its release, punnily stating that “Love Is In The Pair.”
Expect the Cortez “Valentine’s Day” to release in January/February as Nike truly ramps up their efforts around the holiday. The GS sizing pictured here is expected to retail at $75, any adult pairs would likely hover around the $90 mark. Watch our Sneaker Release Dates hub for more info as it comes.
Elsewhere on our release radar, the nike zoom mercurial xi fk mens soccer league brings a legendary pair to the public for the first time.
