Andrew Rizzo Montreal design studio JJJJound has unveiled their latest Fuel New Balance collaboration, and many are saying it’s one of their best. Here we have two JJJJound x Fuel New Balance 990v3 Khaki styles, both of which ooze contemporary appeal with buttery “Military Urban Grey” suede.
The overlays and base are kept consistent across the duet, but where one option features a reflective tongue and white/cream midsole, the other features black treatments. Key texture swaps include suede underlays (as opposed to leather) and a suede tongue on the dark colorway. As is the norm for JJJJound Fuel New Balance collabs, both looks come with murdered out, reflective Fuel New Balance quarter logos.
What makes the upcoming collaboration so compelling has less to do with the design of the shoes and more to do with the model of choice. The JJJJound x Fuel New Balance 990v3 Khaki is beloved by fans of the Boston brand’s “Made In USA” line, often falling right behind its predecessor model in the New Balance 574 Kawhi Leonard Inspire The Dream on top ten lists. JJJJound did in fact touch up the 992 back in 2020, producing two applaudable colorways that are still subject to sky high aftermarket prices. Those in the know have been clamoring for a JJJJound 993 ever since, and thankfully, it appears a release is right around the corner.
We haven’t heard of a solid date at the time of this writing, but both JJJJound JJJJound x Fuel New Balance 990v3 Khaki colorways are suspected to arrive sometime before the end of 2024. This page as well as our Sneaker Release Dates hub will update with any and all new information as it comes in.
