When Nike purchased Converse in 2003 for a cool $350 million, they probably weren’t thinking of adding a counterpart to the SB line they created just a year earlier. Time flies when you’re manipulating demand, and Nike/Converse might just have the Dwyane Wade to their Kobe Bryant, so to speak.
We’ve seen a few skateboarding shoes from One Star and now with the Black/Gold Pack, Converse is marking the start of a more aggressive strategy. Made up of the ERX 300 and CTS (Chuck Taylor Skate), this perforated pack of black leather kicks are accented with gold and red. The CTS looks like some of the other high-end leather Chucks we’ve seen, while the ERX 300 mimics the Nike RT1, Supra Skytop and other high-cut kicks du jour. Take a look at the pics from CtotheJL and check back with us for more details when Converse announces the release date.
