During the 2003-2004 NBA Season, the Cleveland Cavaliers roster boasted not one, but two highly-touted prep-to-pro players. One, of course, was LeBron James, and the second was Darius Miles, the 3rd overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Projected as the next great combo-forward player (some made the Kevin Garnett comparison), Darius Miles was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers after just two seasons with the Clippers. You might remember Darius Miles being part of the ad campaign for the Air Jordan XVII, so even during his short 1.5 season stay with the Cavs, Darius Miles sported some sick Air Jordan 3 Grey Flip PEs during the 2002-2003 season; it featured a vibrant orange patent leather upper with a translucent outsole with Miles’ ’21’ jersey on the heel. Unfortunately, Darius Miles’ career didn’t pan out in the way we’d all hoped (shoulda joined Artest at St. John’s!), and his career ended on a somewhat controversial note (involving the Trail Blazers, contract mumbo jumbo, and the salary cap).
