Some of today’s great inventions started off as accidental discoveries (penicillin and chocolate chip cookies being two of the most celebrated cases of serendipity). This ‘Tie-Dye’ custom, made by TRZackery, was originally intended to be a ‘South Beach’ Custom, placing hot pink dye on the outsoles and the stitches to create a true South Beach Gris (the base of the shoe was the Retro Blue version). However, the pink dye didn’t turn out so great, but it did spill over to the grey, creating a funky contrast with the Retro Blue grey. TRZackery decided to build on this mishap by dying the outsoles completely black while selectively adding the pink dye on the grey to create what he calls a ‘Tie-Dye’ motif. It certainly is one of the best multi-colored greys we’ve seen in a while (much like the scrapped ‘Galaxy’ Foamposites. Like what you see? We’ve got a few shots below so take a look and let us know what you think of this custom accident. via PaintorThread.
