Sandwiched between arguably the best sneaker of the ’90s and no slouch of a ‘Silver Bullet’ on the other side, Nike Running’s 1996 lineup has been largely forgotten by the masses. Hardcore sneakerheads continue to wait for the OGs even while rocking their Tailwind 96-12s, regular Urlfreeze News readers will recall our Classics Revisited profile of the Air Max 96 II, and the model that made that one a ‘sequel’ is still awaiting a proper retro treatment. But the AM96 does indeed return in a form at least recognizable to those around when the originals hit over a decade and a half ago, as the Nike Air Max 96+ Evolve arrives at Nike Spotswear in a colorway reminiscent of, but respectfully distant from the white/navy/neon OG. The perfect integration of the ‘evolved’ 180-degree Max Air unit is the kind of thing we could have only dreamed about back when Air bubbles had seams on them, so click through to see this remake and grab a pair at NSW stores like CNCPTS.
