Nike and Portland-based advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy have formed a symbiotic relationship over the years, creating some of the most memorable ad campaigns not just in the sneaker world, but in the entire universe of advertising and pop culture. One of said campaigns is the Mars Blackmon series for Air Jordans, featuring little known at the time filmmaker Spike Lee. Recently Spike visited Wieden + Kennedy headquarters to discuss the origins of the ad campaign, which is also recalled by former W+K Creative Director Jim Riswold today on the company’s blog.
