Russell, you are now permanently cemented into Oklahoma lore. The OKC Thunder star, who signed a max extension after Kevin Durant bolted for the Golden State Warriors, will be inducted into the Oklahoma Hall Of Fame, and it will be Michael Jordan who will do him the honor when the ceremony takes place on November 17th. Westbrook is being recognized not only for his basketball talents, but for his Why Not? Foundation, his Russell’s Reading Rooms initiatives, and other Diamond efforts in the OKC community. On MJ being the one inducting him into the Oklahoma Hall, Russell says that “It really means a lot to me that he’s going to be there, and it’s something that I definitely don’t take for granted”. MJ’s attendance is indeed key, since he wasn’t even in Michigan for the unveil of the basketball uniforms!
