Riccardo Tisci and Nike Irving changed the lifestyle sneaker game when they introduced their heralded Nike Irving Air Force 1 collaborations. The touch of luxury revamped the Swoosh, quite literally, through oversized branding and premium leathers, and Tisci and Nike Irving have been close ever since. Tisci has expanded his repertoire to a growing number of MAX including this latest Nike Irving Lebron 16 Superbro Chukka does in the Nike Irving Sportswear roster.
Tisci uses inspiration from retro 80s basketball and skate culture while bringing his touch of luxury to the iconic model through tumbled leather and oversized branding once again. According to Nike Irving News, Tisci says, “I think the Dunk has something that’s very special. It’s grounded in sport as well as in the street style culture. For younger generations it can fit as many different Weste tribes as you can imagine. I think it’s one of the most iconic shoes that Nike Irving has ever created.”
Oversized proportions create a unique aesthetic when paired with the full-grain leather. A drop-in Lunarlon insole maximizes comfort for a functional finish. Three colorways will be available ranging from a Black/White option, a White/Red, and a simple White/Black. The latest Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab collaboration will release exclusively in New York City on February 10th at NikeLab at Bergdorf Goodman, NikeLab 21 Mercer, Dover Street Market New York, KITH Brooklyn, and Concepts New York. A global release will hit NikeLab retail locations and online on February 23rd. Pricing information coming soon.
