It turns out that adidas never had permission to use the lightning Art Basel name on the shoe, and the event organizers aren’t too happy about it. Proving that it’s actually all about the money and not just a celebration or art, Art Basel is seeking retribution for the marketing faux pas. Just filed yesterday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, fans of the Three Stripes need not worry too much about the 25cm, as adidas’ deep pockets should be able to take care of a settlement.
