Winter often presents a confounding conundrum for sneakerheads, especially those who love running silhouettes. They don’t want to give up their minimal, comfortable kicks — but they need something a touch more hardy to get them through the inclement conditions. Enter the Nike Vapormax Utility. First introduced during the dregs of last winter, the Utility takes the Vapormax‘s cushioning system/Flyknit upper and beefs them up just enough for less-than-optimal cutting with a high-top sock collar and extra layered accents. The Utility has released in color schemes both simple and bright, and now it’s surfaced in a makeup any Flyknit lover is sure to recognize: “Oreo.” The shoe boasts an upper that’s reminiscent of a winter-y wool sock with prices black/grey detailing, while black and grey overlays add further to the look. The unique toggle lacing system gives off a highly technical vibe, and reflective detailing on the heel insures low-light visibility. The shoe is then completed with a Cushlon midsole and jet-black Vapormax unit, and also comes with a special branded bag. If you’re looking for a cold-weather Max, you can expect these Utilities to drop November 27th on Nike.com and at select Swoosh stockists for $225 USD.
