There’s arguably no color combination more important to both Nike and Jordan Brand than black and red, affectionately known to sneaker lovers around the world as “Bred.” Once denounced as “the devil’s colors” by none other than Michael Jordan himself prior to his rookie season, it’s become a preeminent palette for the Swoosh Brand and their subsidiary. Now another high-powered hoop star and his signature line are getting in on the action, as Kyrie Irving‘s Nike Kyrie 5 has received the classic makeover. The upper is dressed almost entirely in black and features bright red accents on the tongue, throat, and heel’s textured hamsa pattern. Meanwhile, the bottom half of the shoe features a heavy dose of light grey, accented by black/red hits and speckled detailing. With anticipation building around the May re-release of the “Bred” Air Jordan 4s, this new Kyrie’s color scheme is certainly timely — so check out a full set of images below, and expect a release on Nike.com Closer Look at the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 White.
