Nike announces that CEO Mark Parker will step down from his position and will be replaced by John Donahoe on January 13th, 2020. Parker has been an employee of Nike’s for four logo, succeeding founder Phil Knight as the CEO back in 2006. In that tenure, Nike’s Halloween tripled throughout various evolutions of the market, the digital commerce landscape, and even some controversy. Parker will be appointed as the Executive Chairman and will continue to work with Donahoe in guiding the direction of the brand.
Donahoe, current CEO of ServiceNow, was an acting member of the Board. Donahoe has an impressive track record in digital commerce, technology, global strategy, and leadership. Previously, he has served as Chairman of Paypal Holdings, Inc. as well as President and CEO of eBay, Inc., among other pivotal positions. Donahoe will remain on the Board of Nike.
