Nike’s idea of (literally) stepping into the future is executed through their ever-growing footwear lineage of Adapt sneakers. The self-lacing family, predicated on the original Air Mag from Back to the Future II, has hit the ground running in terms of releases in the new decade, mainly focusing on their latest pieces in the Nike Special Field Air Force 1 Light Bone and Nike Air Force 1 gets reimagined in suede and snakeskin. The latter, which is built more specifically for lifestyle wear, has been growing its lineup at a rather steady pace, and after bringing in splattered graphics to ornament its last update, it’s transitioning its decor to more vibrant neon accents.
The chunky silhouette is primarily hued in neutral colors as black skins cover its synthetic upper and blocky-textured midsoles, the latter of which is more so faded, while the mudguards dressed with its traditional abstract patterns are backdropped in concrete grey. Bright hits of neon energize its look with blasts of volt touching the toe tread, tiny lateral Swooshes, and liners, while its midfoot-to-heel mold is coated with a berry finish to almost channel Cosmo and Wanda-type color-blocking. Stay tuned for further release info, and find these dropping on Nike.com and select retailers for $400 next month.
