October 24th, 2020 is certainly a special date for streetwear and footwear retailer Concepts as this is the very day that they open up the doors to their newest retail flagship in their hometown of Boston. And as opposed to simply launching the new store with the inventory they already had, they’ve decided to team up with New Balance to debut a new duo of store-exclusive footwear colorways. Together the two parties have agreed to drop two New Balance 992 colorways, both of which are adorned with eye-catching color schemes. Choosing this silhouette makes perfect sense considering that it is currently riding a 2020 wave of garnered momentum through collaborations and cleaner inline styles.
The first iteration arrives dressed in alignment with the seasonal shift as navy/red plaid patterns reminiscent of Autumn-appropriate flannels rest across the upper’s base. Additional accents are distributed on top as the overlays alternate between deep blue towards the heels/mid-foot and scarlet red atop the mudguards. Moving over to its release sibling, this installment is one of much more loud allure. Congregating on the upper is an assortment of teal and black overlays, both of which sit atop its purple mesh constructions. Given the nature of its palette, one can argue that they almost channel somewhat of a “Grape” motif that’s most closely associated with the Pharrell adidas NMD Hu. Both pairs are likely sold out by now, but it wouldn’t hurt to pick up the phone and calling the new Concepts Boston store to double check.
Elsewhere in sneaker news, the next set Nike SB Dunk Low "The Wizard Of Oz" collaborations are set to release tomorrow.
