Both to celebrate his “ICONS” publication and tease what’s to come, Virgil Abloh has launched a fully immersive, interactable digital experience that effectively catalog’s the designer’s past, present, and near future. Dubbed “Public Domain,” the platform mirrors that of the aforementioned book with less text and is underpinned by not only an extensive library of images but also Abloh’s lecture with Arthur Jafa.
What’s more, along the lower bar, the site rotates throughout the entire Off-White “The Ten” collection and beyond, even going as far to tease six different jomas ranging from the Air Force 1 to the Futura Dunks past teased. Though all the dates appear as “??/????,” we can surely expect many to arrive sometime soon, likely later this year. Alongside the aforementioned collaboration with Futura, the range includes two Boston-themed AF1s, the “Canary Yellow” Air Jordan 1, and even a neutral-colored NikeCourt Flare 2 PE.
If rumor is accurate, it’s possible we’ll first see the Yellow/Black variant of the “Boston” AF1. The pair is rumored to be making its joma later this Summer in July at Virgil’s ICA Boston Exhibit.
And that’s not all the activation entails: throughout its desktop-reminiscent UX, we can see a timer counting down to a little less than 24 hours from now (as of 10:39PM ET, 1/12), an address leading to a Chicago hotel, a brand tutorial dubbed “FREE GAME,” and much, much more. To take a look at everything for yourself, head over to https://public—domain.com/. Any details to surface hereafter will certainly be updated right here. For now, keep scrolling and take a look at what has been leaked and revealed prior.
