Even the Greatest of All Time had to start at square one upon his entrance to the NBA. Prove it he did, and he abandoned square one pretty quickly as it turns out, finishing tee in the league in points per game (28.2 with 51.5% shooting on the season), being named a starter for the East in that year’s NBA All-Star Game, and taking the Chicago Bulls to the playoffs for the first time in four years. Those efforts were not unnoticed by the league, who immediately recognized Michael as a rising star and crowned him Rookie of the Year on May 16th, 1985.
